The Athletics acquired Adams from the Mets on Sunday in exchange for cash considerations.
The Mets reassigned him to the minors earlier in the weekend, but the Athletics elected to trade for him rather than risk him being scooped up by another organization. The right-hander made 24 big-league appearances last season and had a 5.71 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 22:8 K:BB over 17.1 innings.
