Bassitt (elbow) will undergo Tommy John surgery on Friday and will miss the remainder of the season, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Bassitt ends his season after only appearing in five games, totaling a 6.11 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 28 innings pitched. Jesse Hahn and Sean Manaea figure to replace the 27-year-old in the rotation for the remainder of the season.
