Acevedo was designated for assignment by the Athletics on Friday.
Acevedo was sent down in early July, and he's posted a 3.86 ERA and 13:2 K:BB in seven relief innings at Triple-A Las Vegas since then. The 27-year-old made his first three big-league appearances in late June and early July, and he could remain in the organization if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
