The Athletics acquired Groshans from the Yankees on Sunday in exchange for first baseman J.D. Davis and cash considerations.

After beginning the season with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes Barre, Groshans was moved in late April Double-A Somerset, with whom he was slashing .234/.302/.316 with no home runs or stolen bases across 121 plate appearances. The 23-year-old Groshans hasn't seen major-league action since 2022 and will now move on to the fourth organization of his career.
