Dunshee reported to minor-league spring training healthy after missing a large portion of the 2021 season due to a rib injury, Melissa Lockard of The Athletic reports.

Reports surfaced this past summer that Dunshee would require thoracic outlet syndrome, but Lockard relays that it was different injury had been keeping the right-hander off the field. After nearly three months with the rib issue, Dunshee returned to action for Triple-A Las Vegas in September, making five appearances while giving up 18 runs (14 earned) and striking out 12 over 17 innings. The 27-year-old doesn't possess a spot on the 40-man roster, but he could get a token chance to compete for the Athletics' No. 5 spot in the Opening Day rotation once big-league spring training opens.
