Selman was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Saturday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.
Selman was claimed off waivers by the Athletics in mid-March, but he'll begin the season with the minor-league club. The lefty made four Cactus League appearances this spring and allowed two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out four in 4.1 innings.
