Manaea will get an early Cactus League start and manager Bob Melvin indicated that Manaea has a chance of getting to the majors this season, reports Jane Lee of MLB.com.

Manaea, the A's top pitching prospect, was exceptional in Double-A for the A's after they obtained him in a trade with the Royals, compiling a 1.90 ERA over seven starts with Midland. In that stretch, Manaea struck out a sparkling 51 guys in 42.2 innings, If the A's have some underperformance or injuries in the starting rotation, Manaea appears to be an excellent bet to fill those voids in the second half.
