Gelof went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Gelof continues to have trouble getting on base -- he has gone 2-for-24 with one walk and one hit-by-pitch over his last eight contests. He's also been caught stealing twice in that span, with his theft Sunday his first successful one since July 22. The second baseman's slump has him down to a .189/.255/.351 slash line with 13 home runs, 13 steals, 35 RBI and 38 runs scored across 89 contests. The Athletics aren't competitive this year, so they'll let their talented infielder work things out on the diamond, though the return of Darell Hernaiz could eventually cost Gelof some playing time at the keystone since Max Schuemann has played well at shortstop.
