Kirk is out of the lineup for Game 2 of Wednesday's doubleheader against the Red Sox.
Kirk started at catcher and went 0-for-3 in the matinee, and it's no surprise he won't be starting both games of the twin bill. Reese McGuire will work behind the plate and bat ninth in the nightcap.
