Shafer is dealing with a Grade 1 flexor strain, Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports.

Shafer will be unavailable until he's further evaluated when the Blue Jays return home Thursday. Depending on the severity of the issue, the soon-to-be 26-year-old may not pitch again this season.
