McGuire went 3-for-5 with a trio of doubles and an RBI in Thursday's win over the Red Sox.
Hitting out of the No. 9 hole in the Toronto lineup, McGuire doubled off three different Boston pitchers and drove in a run with his ground-rule two-bagger in the sixth inning. With Danny Jansen (hamstring) on the shelf for the second time this season, McGuire is splitting playing time behind the plate with rookie Alejandro Kirk and has responded by hitting .284 in 143 plate appearances on the year.
