The Mets released Waddell on Monday.
Waddell made 11 appearances out of the New York bullpen in 2025, but he was pushed off the 40-man roster during the offseason and has spent the entire 2026 campaign in the minors. He hadn't pitched for Triple-A Syracuse since April 28 due to an unspecified injury before the Mets elected to cut him loose.
