Atlanta manager Brian Snitker said Wednesday that Minter will undergo surgery on his left hip, Justin Toscano of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Minter visited a specialist Wednesday to determine the best course of action regarding his hip injury that has been plaguing him for most of the season, and it was ultimately decided that the 30-year-old reliever will require a procedure. Given the timing of Minter's injury, there's a good chance that the procedure will put an early end to his season, though Snitker said the team won't know for sure until after the operation is completed.
