Atlanta signed Urshela to a one-year contract Tuesday.
A deal that had been reported as imminent is now official, and Urshela will be active for Atlanta's series opener versus the Phillies on Tuesday. The 32-year-old should get a shot to be the club's primary third baseman down the stretch following the loss of Austin Riley (hand), who is likely out for the rest of the regular season. Urshela slashed .243/.286/.333 with five home runs, 37 RBI, 25 runs and no stolen bases in 92 games for the Tigers this season before being released over the weekend.
