Atlanta returned Ynoa (elbow) from his minor-league rehab assignment Saturday due to right shoulder tightness, Lindsay Crosby of AthlonSports.com reports.
Ynoa underwent Tommy John surgery in September of 2022 and pitched during spring training before starting the season at Triple-A Gwinnett. However, he was moved back on the injured list with elbow inflammation in late April and had completed five rehab outings before being returned Saturday with a shoulder injury. It's unclear how severe the setback will be, but Ynoa had thrown at least three innings in three consecutive minor-league outings and seemed close to being activated. In those three appearances, Ynoa allowed just one run with eight strikeouts across 9.2 innings .
