Kipnis signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Monday, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Kipnis was cut loose by Atlanta a few days earlier, but he'll rejoin the organization prior to the start of the season and head to the minors as infield depth. Kipnis appeared in 44 big-league contests a season ago, slashing .237/.341/.404 with three homers and 16 RBI with the Cubs.
