Atlanta acquired Soler and right-hander Luke Jackson from San Francisco on Monday in exchange for left-hander Tyler Matzek (elbow) and infielder Sabin Ceballos, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports.

Soler will head back to Atlanta, where he was a part of the team's postseason run and ultimate World Series championship in 2021 after being acquired at the trade deadline from Kansas City. The 32-year-old has produced a .240 batting average with 12 home runs, 40 RBI, 57 runs scored and one stolen base over 341 at-bats in 93 games with the Giants this season. Soler has also been running hot as of late, going 11-for-18 with a home run, five RBI and eight runs scored over his last five games. He's operated primarily as a designated hitter in 2024, but with Marcell Ozuna holding down that role in Atlanta, it's possible that Soler is asked to play some more in the corner outfield with his new club.
