Soroka tossed five shutout innings for Double-A Mississippi on Monday. allowing just two hits and striking out seven without walking a batter.
The outing was even more impressive when you consider the 19-year-old was not only making his Double-A debut, but he spent all of last year in Low-A. Soroka, the Braves' No. 7 prospect, won't be in line for a big-league promotion in 2017 but if he continues dominating high-minors hitters despite his youth, the organization may be forced to give him a long look for a rotation spot next spring.
