Civale (7-9) took the loss against Arizona on Saturday, allowing three runs on three hits and three walks while striking out two batters over 4.1 innings.
Civale struggled with his control in the outing, throwing just 51 of 91 pitches for strikes and issuing three free passes. He also got dinged for a pair of home runs, which accounted for all three runs against him. It was the first time the right-hander has given up multiple homers in a game since July 21, and Saturday's outing was the first time he has failed to complete five frames since Aug. 23. Civale had been pitching well coming into the contest, posting a 2.42 ERA and 0.99 WHIP over 22.1 innings across his previous four starts.
