Wainwright (3-3) pitched seven shutout innings, allowing four hits and four walks while striking out three in Sunday's win over the Cubs.

Wainwright worked around the zone, throwing just 56 of 102 pitches for strikes, but he was effectively wild as he earned his first quality start of 2017. The 35-year-old outdueled Jake Arrieta to push the Cardinals past the defending champions for a second straight day. Wainwright's ERA still sits at an unsightly 5.31, but at least Sunday was a step in the right direction. The veteran will make his next start Sunday against the Giants.
