Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol said Friday that Walker will have an everyday spot in the lineup after being called up from Triple-A Memphis, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The 22-year-old didn't see consistent playing time while up with the Cardinals in mid-August before being sent back to Triple-A, but he'll receive significant run down the stretch after Tommy Pham was designated for assignment. Walker has played just 24 games this season after he posted a .276/.342/.445 slash line with 16 homers and seven steals in 117 contests as a rookie in 2023, and a strong finish to the campaign would set him up nicely heading into 2025.
