Gibson did not factor into the decision in Thursday's loss to the Rays, allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk over six innings. He struck out six.
Both runs charged to Gibson came across in the opening frame after he surrendered back-to-back hits to open the contest, followed by a two-run single from Dylan Carlson with two outs. The right-hander was able to keep the Rays off the board over the next five innings however, generating 11 whiffs while posting at least six strikeouts for the third time in his last four starts. Gibson is still looking for his first win since July 7, though he has managed to go six or more innings in three of his five outings over that span.
