Newsome (elbow) was outrighted to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.
Newsome made seven appearances (one start) with the Mariners in 2021 before being claimed off waivers by the Cardinals in October. He's expected to miss most or all of the 2022 season after he underwent Tommy John surgery this summer.
