Gonzales was called up from Triple-A Memphis to start Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Brewers, Jenifer Langosch of MLB.com reports.
He is serving as the 26th man for the twin bill, meaning he will be shuttled back to Memphis following the nightcap. The Brewers rank 13th in MLB with a 97 wRC+ against left-handed pitchers this season, so it is a middling matchup for Gonzales. He has a 3.26 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 24:9 K:BB in 30.1 innings at Triple-A this year. While he profiles as more of a No. 4 or No. 5 starter long term, his changeup is a filthy pitch that can allow him to get on a run when everything is clicking.
