The Cardinals recalled Svanson from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

Svanson will serve as the 27th man during Wednesday's doubleheader in Philadelphia. The right-handed reliever has permitted two runs with a 4:3 K:BB over 5.2 innings in the majors this season. He'll likely head back to Memphis after Wednesday's twin bill.
