Goldschmidt went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Friday's 7-6 loss to the Dodgers.
Goldschmidt's blast tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning. The first baseman's consistency hasn't returned in August -- he's just 7-for-42 (.167) with two homers and seven RBI over 12 contests this month. He's still managed to produce decent power with 19 homers and 19 doubles through 117 contests, but his batting average (.231) has been stagnant since mid-June, and he's added just 49 RBI, 58 runs scored and seven stolen bases for a team that's struggled to generate much offense.
