Indians pitcher Carlos Carrasco has been named the starter for Wednesday's game against the Twins in place of Scott Kazmir, who is going through a dead arm phase and will receive a few extra days of rest, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Carrasco has made six starts and one relief appearance for the Indians, going 0-4 with a 7.75 ERA, 1.90 WHIP and 19:16 K:BB ratio in 33 2/3 innings. His one relief appearance came Friday, when he pitched the final five innings of his team's 5-2 loss to the Angels, allowing no runs on one hit and three walks while striking out four.
