The Rays declined Mullins' $10 million mutual option for 2027 on Friday.

Mullins slashed only .205/.284/.344 with 15 home runs and 21 stolen bases over 137 regular-season contests during his lone season in Tampa Bay, so it's not a surprise the Rays will allow him to head into free agency. The 32-year-old outfielder will receive a $500,000 buyout instead.
