Anderson cleared waivers and elected free agency Sunday.
Anderson was designated for assignment by the Rangers on Thursday, and he'll become a free agent rather than reporting to Triple-A Round Rock. He's posted a 5.40 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 42:21 over 58.1 innings between Texas and Boston this season.
