Astros designated hitter Chris Carter belted his 21st home run of the season Sunday in the ninth inning off starter Martin Perez of the Rangers. Carter ended Perez's chances at his first complete-game shutout.

Carter finished 1 for 4 in the game and has 54 RBI on the season after the solo homer. He's batting just .213 for the Astros.

The 26-year-old slugger has homered in back-to-back ballgames but has just five hits in his last 10 games.
