White Sox pitcher Chris Sale will be placed on the 15-day disabled list with a flexor muscle strain. He underwent an MRI on Monday, which revealed no ligament damage, ESPN Chicago reports.

Sale was scratched Tuesday because of soreness similar to what he's experienced the past two seasons, according to manager Robin Ventura. He has permitted only four runs over his last 20 innings pitched.
