Rasmus (groin) was released by the Rays on Friday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The 29-year-old righty has been dealing with a groin injury throughout spring camp and simply didn't have a role in the minors. Rasmus appeared in 19 games for the Angels last season, posting a 5.84 ERA and a 1.66 WHIP over 24.2 innings, but appears to be on the move without making an impact in Tampa Bay. He'll look to latch on with a minor-league contract elsewhere.
