Hughes underwent surgical debridement of his left knee Wednesday, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.
Hughes was originally slated for season-ending knee alignment surgery, but the debridement will significantly reduce his recovery time. Hughes will begin his rehab process right away, though it is still unknown whether or not he'll be able to return before the end of the season.
