The Cubs recalled Garrett from Triple-A Iowa on Sunday.
The Cubs are locked into their playoff spot, so Garrett will be called up to serve in a long-relief role, with Shota Imanaga expected to work an abbreviated start for Sunday's regular-season finale. Garrett has started in two games for the Cubs this season, allowing seven runs on seven hits and eight walks while striking out five across 4.1 innings.
