Bote cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa on Sunday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Bote was designated for assignment by Chicago on Friday, but he'll stick in the organization after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 31-year-old had a respectable .304/.333/.391 slash line in 37 games before being booted off the Cubs' 40-man roster, but he recorded just four at-bats in August.
