Paredes is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Reds.
According to Meghan Montemurro of the Chicago Tribune, Paredes is en route to Cincinnati but has yet to officially join the Cubs after he was acquired from the Rays in a trade Sunday. Once he settles in with his new club, Paredes should serve as the Cubs' everyday third baseman and will likely occupy a prominent spot in the lineup.
