Taillon (8-8) allowed four runs on six hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings to take the loss Wednesday versus the Tigers.
Taillon gave up multiple homers for the third time in five starts after doing that just once in his first 17 outings this year. He gave up two-run home runs to Trey Sweeney and Riley Greene in the second inning. Taillon has allowed 20 runs over 26.1 innings across his last five starts, though he's had decent control with a 23:5 K:BB in that span. For the season, the veteran right-hander has a 3.77 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 101:26 K:BB through 126.2 innings over 22 starts. His next outing is projected to be at Pittsburgh early next week.
