Wieland signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs and was added to the 60-man player pool, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

He was most recently playing overseas in the KBO and came stateside this year to play independent baseball, where he apparently impressed Cubs scouts. The 30-year-old righty has a 6.32 ERA in 52.2 career MLB innings, mostly as a starter.
