Gsellman cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Iowa on Friday, Tim Stebbins of NBC Sports Chicago reports.
Gsellman made eight relief appearances for the Cubs in May and posted a 4.70 ERA and 1.30 WHIP in 15.1 innings. However, the right-hander lost his spot on the Cubs' 40-man roster Monday and will remain in the organization after going unclaimed on waivers.
