Cubs manager David Ross said Tuesday that Gomes (concussion) is close to being activated, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
It sounds like it could happen ahead of Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Cardinals. Ross was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Wednesday, but the move was made retroactive to last Tuesday, and he has been participating in baseball activities without issue since the weekend.
