Gomes isn't in the lineup for the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Mets.
Gomes started Thursday's series opener against the Mets and went 1-for-4. However, he'll get a breather for Saturday's matinee while Willson Contreras starts behind the dish with Patrick Wisdom serving as the designated hitter.
