The Rays released McGuire last week, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
One of 25 minor-league players let go by Tampa Bay, McGuire will presumably try to find work either with another organization or in a foreign league due to the uncertainty that a minor-league season will be held in 2020. McGuire returned to North America after spending the 2019 season in the Korea Baseball Organization as a member of the Samsung Lions, with whom he posted a 5.05 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 112.1 innings.
