The Diamondbacks signed Santana to a minor-league contract Wednesday.
Santana was cut loose by the Pirates last week after collecting a 6.05 ERA and 37:21 K:BB over 41.2 innings. Whether the right-hander is able to rediscover his form from 2025 -- when he posted a 2.18 ERA and 0.87 WHIP with 16 saves -- is very much in question, but bringing him aboard on a minor-league pact is a no-risk move for Arizona that might have moderate upside.
