Ahmed will require surgery to repair his fractured right wrist, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
The initial thought was that Ahmed wouldn't require surgery on his wrist, but further tests confirmed otherwise, effectively putting an end to his season. The 27-year-old posted a .251/.298/.419 line with six homers and three stolen bases in 53 games for the Diamondbacks this season.
