Mets shortstop Dilson Herrera will only play second base in the majors, ESPN.com reports, despite playing 27 games in the minors at shortstop this season.
Herrera was recalled Thursday from Double-A Binghamton, where he was hitting .340/.406/.560 in 61 games. He is expected to help replace Daniel Murphy, who was placed on the DL Thursday.
