The Dodgers optioned Freeland to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.
Freeland has appeared in just one of the Dodgers' last six games and will now be pushed off the active roster to make room for Dalton Rushing (elbow). Assuming he doesn't rejoin the big club during the team's final series, Freeland will close the book on 2026 with a .234/.327/.325 slash line alongside four homers, 21 RBI, 32 runs and four steals across 269 plate appearances.
