Pages had a compression screw inserted into his fractured left hand in an attempt to expedite healing, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Pages suffered the fracture when he was hit by a pitch Friday. The All-Star outfielder is looking at a 4-to-5 week timeline to return to game action, which would push up against the end of the regular season. It appears the Dodgers are hoping Pages can get back at the early end of the estimated timeline -- and perhaps even sooner -- by having a compression screw inserted into his injured hand, but it remains to be seen how beneficial the procedure is. Until Pages is able to return, Alek Thomas may get most of the starts for Los Angeles in center field -- he's making a second straight start there Sunday.
