Herrera went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI in Thursday's season opener with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
The 31-year-old third baseman's Opening Day struggles aren't much of a surprise considering his spring training performance. He went 10-for-51 with nine runs scored, four RBI and a 4:9 BB:K rate, and found himself in Triple-A to start the season because of it. That said, it is not outside the realm of possibility for him to make his way to the majors at some point this season if his performance improves.
