Freeman (ankle) was seen on crutches and in a walking boot following Thursday's game against the Padres and will not return during the regular season, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Freeman rolled his ankle attempting to avoid a tag at first base on an off-target throw, but the Dodgers said he avoided structural damage. He is expected to be ready for the postseason.
