Farmer was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Farmer is deserving of a significant trial in the big leagues, but he will need an injury to Yasmani Grandal or Austin Barnes to get any kind of steady work in September. He is hitting .311/.360/.495 with seven home runs and a 15.3 percent strikeout rate in the Pacific Coast League, and serves as another reminder of the Dodgers' embarrassment of riches.
